TEXTURED LIGHTWORKS

  • Echoes of Time
“Echoes of Time” is a contemplative, layered work constructed entirely from recycled corrugated cardboard. Each concentric circle was cut, shaped, and placed by hand — a meditative process that took many patient hours. This artwork speaks of rhythm and repetition, the way time expands and folds in on itself. The natural texture of the cardboard evokes tree rings, ripples in water, or the sedimentary build-up of the earth’s history — all silent records of memory and transformation.

With the LED panel turned on, the piece comes to life, glowing from within like a living fossil or ancient sun dial. The subtle addition of white material in one of the central rings offers contrast — a glimmer of difference within the cycles, hinting at moments in life that stand out from the rest: pivotal, memorable, luminous.

This piece is both a sculpture and a light source — grounded and glowing, quiet yet commanding.

  • A Gentle Hold
“A Gentle Hold” explores the quiet strength found in connection and care. Hand-cut from corrugated cardboard and softly illuminated from within, the piece evokes the early moments of creation, two forms encircling a glowing centre, like cells dividing, or figures leaning in toward something sacred. The layered curves and subtle shadows form a visual rhythm that speaks to warmth, protection, and the delicate balance of being held, but not confined. Light breathes through the structure in a gentle pulse, inviting stillness and reflection.

  • Delicate Shadows
This work invites you closer. Hand-cut from humble cardboard, its intricacy is revealed in the quiet spaces, in the way light passes through and leaves behind shadow. Suspended from the surface, it breathes gently with the room. Each thread-like cut speaks to the patience of process, and the beauty found not in boldness, but in the strength of detail. It is a piece of stillness coming alive with movement.

  • The Tide
Original Textured Corrugated Cardboard Artwork with Light | Contemporary Wall Sculpture by Lucie Anderson

The Tide is a striking circular wall sculpture made from hand-cut, recycled corrugated cardboard. One side holds its original linear form, while the other reveals an intricate, lace-like texture—an erosion that feels both organic and intentional.

With built-in LED lighting, the piece transforms when illuminated: a soft glow shines from behind and within, reminiscent of a glowing moon or seasonal solstice. Even in natural light, the filigree texture appears to float within its wooden frame, casting subtle, shifting shadows.

Framed in a deep wood look box (52 x 52 x 5 cm), The Tide is a statement artwork for modern interiors—celebrating material simplicity, transformation, and quiet beauty.
  • Layers of the Land
Layers of the Land – Original Textured Corrugated Cardboard Wall Sculpture | Contemporary Eco Art by Lucie Anderson

Layers of the Land is a hand-crafted circular wall sculpture made from reclaimed corrugated cardboard. Inspired by the textures and stories of the whenua (land), this work explores natural form through three distinct sections: an intricate lace-like upper layer, a central pattern suggesting human presence, and a more grounded, earthy base.

Framed in a 42 x 42 cm natural timber box, this piece shifts with the light, its shadows moving gently throughout the day. The central layer may evoke tangata whenua—the people of the land—offering a quiet reflection on place, connection, and identity.

This contemporary, sustainable artwork brings together natural rhythm, material honesty, and soft, sculptural detail—ideal for modern interiors seeking meaning and calm.
